Services

Worship at New Beginnings is informal, but structured, always giving way for the Holy Spirit to interrupt our structure as He desires. While our worship is informal, we believe that Biblical worship is always done "decently and in order" (1 Corinthians 14:40). Our music is normally a blend of traditional hymns and Gospel songs and mild contemporary Gospel music. Some people stand when we sing while others remain seated. Our worship is not an attempt to create an entertaining concert, but to offer up sincere worship to our wonderful Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Children's Church is conducted simultaneous to our Sunday morning worship service at 10:30 AM. A nursery is available and encouraged.

What to Expect

When we gather, we sing, we pray, we read Scripture, and we hear a message from the Word of God, typically from our pastor, but with an occasional guest speaker. We believe that the Gifts of the Holy Spirit that operated in the New Testament Church are still valid expressions for today. Speaking in tongues, interpretation of tongues, prophetic words, words of wisdom or words of knowledge may be experienced in our worship, although not in every service. We sometimes pray for the sick and for special needs with the laying on of hands (upon those who request such). We always make allowances for such spiritual manifestations, but our principle means of communicating the Gospel is through pastoral expository preaching.

How Shall I dress?

As with our style of worship, we simply dress "decently and in order." We will never judge one's value based on outward attire, because God looks at our hearts. Our congregation consists of people from various walks of life and various socio-economic backgrounds. All are equal at the foot of the Cross and at the door of New Beginnings Church. At any given service, most men in our congregation will not be wearing suits and ties, although some may from time-to-time. Our pastor usually preaches in a suit (or pants and sport coat) sometimes with and sometimes without a tie. Sometimes he preaches in more casual attire. For Adult Bible Study on Sunday nights, Pastor and congregation dress more casual.
